การปฏิบัติการทางอากาศต่อเป้าหมายทางทหารของกัมพูชา เป็นไปตามสิทธิป้องกันตนเอง
พลอากาศโท จักรกฤษณ์ ธรรมวิชัย โฆษกกองทัพอากาศ เปิดเผยว่า ตามที่มีข่าวในสื่อมวลชนและสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ว่า ในสถานการณ์ความขัดแย้งบริเวณชายแดนระหว่างไทยและกัมพูชา ไทยเป็นฝ่ายเริ่มโจมตีกัมพูชาก่อนโดยการใช้เครื่องบินขับไล่แบบ F-16 นั้น กองทัพอากาศขอชี้แจงข้อเท็จจริง ดังนี้
การปฏิบัติการทางอากาศด้วยเครื่องบินขับไล่แบบ F-16 และ Gripen ของไทย เป็นการตอบโต้การปฏิบัติการทางทหารของกัมพูชา ที่ใช้จรวดหลายลำกล้องและปืนใหญ่ โจมตีเป้าหมายทางพลเรือนในไทย โดยเป้าหมายทางพลเรือนจุดแรกในไทยที่ถูกโจมตีจากจรวดหลายลำกล้อง BM-21 อยู่ในพื้นที่อำเภอกาบเชิง จังหวัดสุรินทร์ เมื่อวันที่ 24 กรกฎาคม 2568 เวลา 09.33 น. ส่งผลให้คนไทยเสียชีวิต 2 คน และบาดเจ็บ 2 คน หลังจากนั้น กัมพูชายังโจมตีเป้าหมายทางพลเรือนในไทยอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเฉพาะเหตุการณ์การโจมตีร้านสะดวกซื้อ 7-11 ที่ส่งผลให้คนไทยเสียชีวิต 7 คนและบาดเจ็บเป็นจำนวนมาก
จากสถานการณ์ดังกล่าว นำไปสู่การตัดสินใจในการใช้กำลังทางอากาศ โจมตีเป้าหมายทางทหารในกัมพูชา เพื่อทำลายขีดความสามารถทางทหารของกัมพูชาที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อเอกราชอธิปไตยของไทยและความปลอดภัยในชีวิตและทรัพย์สินของคนไทย โดยเครื่องบินขับไล่แบบ F-16 ได้ทิ้งระเบิดลูกแรก ซึ่งเป็นระเบิดที่มีความแม่นยำสูง โจมตีเป้าหมายทางทหารของกัมพูชา เมื่อเวลา 10.38 น. ของวันที่ 24 กรกฎาคม 2568
ทั้งนี้ การใช้กำลังทางอากาศของไทยดำเนินไปอย่างถูกต้องตามหลักกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ โดยอาศัยสิทธิในการป้องกันตนเองตามมาตรา 51 ของกฎบัตรสหประชาชาติ และยึดหลักความได้สัดส่วน ความจำเป็น และการแยกแยะเป้าหมายทางทหารจากพลเรือนอย่างชัดเจน
กองทัพอากาศขอให้ความเชื่อมั่นกับพี่น้องประชาชนคนไทยว่า กองทัพอากาศจะดำรงสภาพ ความพร้อมรบอย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดเวลา เพื่อปกป้องเอกราชอธิปไตยของชาติ คุ้มครองดูแลชีวิตและทรัพย์สินของคนไทย รวมทั้งสร้างเงื่อนไขเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ที่เอื้อต่อการเจรจานำไปสู่สันติภาพ

RTAF Reaffirms Legitimacy of Air Operations Against Cambodian Military Targets Citing Right of Self-Defense

In response to reports circulating in various media and online platforms alleging that Thailand initiated an attack against Cambodia using F-16 fighter aircraft Air Marshal Jackkrit Thammavichai the Royal Thai Air Force Spokesperson wishes to clarify the facts as follows :
The recent air operations conducted by Thai F-16 and Gripen fighter aircraft were defensive actions in response to military aggression by Cambodian forces which launched multiple rocket and artillery attacks on civilian areas within Thai territory.
The first incident occurred on 24 July 2025 at 09:33 hours when BM-21 multiple rocket launchers from Cambodian territory struck Kap Choeng District Surin Province resulting in two civilian deaths and two injuries. Cambodian forces subsequently continued to target civilian areas including the attack on a 7-Eleven convenience store which caused additional casualties among Thai civilians.
In light of these repeated attacks the Royal Thai Air Force was compelled to conduct precision air strikes against Cambodian military targets with the objective of degrading their offensive capabilities and ensuring the protection of Thailand’s sovereignty territorial integrity and the safety of its people.
The first precision-guided strike by an F-16 fighter aircraft took place at 10:38 hours on 24 July 2025.
All air operations were conducted in strict accordance with international law including the right of self-defense under Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations. The RTAF adhered to the universally recognized principles of necessity proportionality and distinction ensuring that military objectives were clearly separated from civilian populations and infrastructure.
The Royal Thai Air Force reaffirms its unwavering commitment to maintaining a state of full operational readiness to defend the Kingdom’s independence and sovereignty safeguard the lives and property of Thai citizens and foster strategic conditions conducive to peace and stability.
